Missions :
The uniqueness of The Vineta Hotel requires an Engineering Team with skills and personality underscored by the highest degree of pride in the work they perform. Both guests and owners are a very accomplished group of people, and the team will need to have an eye for detail. The ability to communicate through various levels is crucial for success.
Profile :
Visually inspect, operate, maintain and repair HVAC equipment throughout the hotel.
Utilize knowledge of building mechanical systems such as, but not limited to, water distribution, pools, Kitchen equipment, HVAC systems and water heating operations is required.
Operation of fan systems, maintenance of temperature controls and disassembly and reassembly of equipment associated with the HVAC trade is also required.
Interpret blueprints and technical manuals along with knowledge in the use of various tools and equipment is necessary.
Follow manufacturer’s guidelines and recommendations for preventative maintenance of all related equipment.
Monitor and inspect the building, guestrooms and equipment on a routine basis.
Make emergency repairs to plumbing, kitchen, and other building equipment.
Monitor and treat pool systems.
Know, understand, practice (with energy and enthusiasm) the culture and spirit of the Oetker Collection.
Constantly strive to uphold the image and core values of the Engineering Department and acknowledge good performance of others.
Maintain open communication with others and participate daily.
Always be available to provide exceptional individualized service, take initiative to help throughout the hotel and to promote it at every opportunity.
Work as a team helping all teammates to complete the required activities that will ensure we exceed guest expectations.
Always smile and offer a warm greeting to all internal and external guests.
Take ownership in your continuous training/personal development & take initiative to learn about other departments within the hotel.
Utilize the given tools to increase your savvy in the industry.
Recommend new opportunities for training.
Comply with all hotel policies, procedures and guidelines.
Be a conservationist (save paper, water, electricity, recycle, etc.).
Help to keep our hotel as clean and beautiful as the day it opened.
What you bring:
High School Diploma required, knowledge of building systems, plus 5 years of experience in general building maintenance. Hotel experience preferred.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, including pressure gauges, leak detectors and instruments for measuring water flow.
Ability to perform duties in extreme temperature ranges, high noise levels, confined spaces, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet, with the ability to reach often overhead.
Basic English language communication skills to fully comprehend job assignments and perform accurate arithmetic functions. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate across departments and with guests.
Ability to frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and handling objects and equipment; grasp, lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push and pull objects or material weighing up to 100 lbs.
