Hotel La Palma - Capri’s first hotel, built in 1822, currently being transformed into an elegant and exclusive 50-room-and-suite hotel. Located mere steps from the famous Piazzetta, it will comprise a rooftop restaurant and bar, its own beach club, a newly built pool deck, a spa and a high-fashion boutique. The Food & Beverage outlets will be managed from Casa Tua Life, marking the brand’s first opening in Italy.

Missions: The Sommelier’s responsibilities include recommending wine varieties to our guests, overseeing wine service, and collaborating with winemakers to refine our selection and negotiate advantageous pricing. To be considered for this role, you should have proven experience in hospitality or within a vineyard, and be available to work during operational hours. Your mission is to delight our guests by guiding them toward the perfect wine to complement their dining experience.
Profile: As part of the Food & Beverage team, the Sommelier ensures exceptional service with continuous attention to cleanliness, efficiency, accuracy, professionalism, and courtesy, making every guest feel personally valued and, whenever possible, addressed by name. The role encompasses creating and updating the wine list in coordination with the Wine Manager; recommending food and wine pairings; advising guests based on their tastes and menu choices; providing information on wine varieties and pricing; ensuring proper serving temperature and glassware; correctly storing open bottles to preserve quality; managing and fully stocking the wine cellar; training wait staff on available wines; negotiating purchase prices with vendors under the supervision of the Director of Food & Beverage; Core competencies include proven experience as a Sommelier or similar role, strong ability to craft refined pairings, extensive knowledge of wines and their regions, familiarity with local vineyards and the winemaking process, excellent communication skills, and availability to work during operational hours, including weekends and holidays.
