Missions: Telephone operators are responsible for handling incoming and outgoing calls.
Profile: The hotel telephone operator plays a key role in ensuring smooth and professional communication between guests, departments, and staff. They answer incoming calls clearly, courteously, and in a friendly manner, helping callers feel at ease while gathering accurate and complete information.
They handle incoming calls by directing them to guest rooms, hotel departments, or managers, and take messages when recipients are unavailable. The operator provides guests with information about hotel services and public events, assists with outgoing calls, and helps guests use the phone system by explaining rates and available services.
They are responsible for reporting any issues with telephone equipment or service, updating directory information in the front office software, and knowing how to respond appropriately to emergency calls. The operator also performs clerical tasks such as filing and data entry, provides product or service information over the phone, including placing orders or scheduling appointments, and supports internal communication by relaying messages between departments.
Additionally, they process incoming email messages and forward them to the appropriate department, ensuring efficient and timely communication throughout the hotel.
